South Africa bat in crucial game

Pakistan's bowlers will have first use of the Edgbaston pitch after AB de Villiers chose for his line-up to set a target. Colin Ingram retained his place at the top of the order for the second match in succession, with Alviro Petersen missing out again.
South Africa made two changes, both in the bowling department. Chris Morris was given his first ODI cap in place of the injured Morne Morkel, who was withdrawn from the squad, but the other swap was tactical. In anticipation of a slow, low pitch that will take turn, Aaron Phangiso was selected over Rory Kleinveldt.
After a miserable batting performance against West Indies, Pakistan dropped Asad Shafiq and included Umar Amin. He, like the rest of his team, will feel right at home at Egdbaston. Their supporters descended on the stadium in big numbers, with a bus carrying the "Stani Army" driving past the main gate minutes before the toss.
