Sri Lanka ask England to bat

Sri Lanka's captain Angelo Mathews won the toss in overcast conditions and sent England in to bat in a day-night match of the Champions Trophy at the Oval on Thursday. 

England, who beat Australia by 48 runs in their first match, will take one of the two semi-final spots from group A if they win. 

Sri Lanka must win to stay afloat in the tournament after losing to New Zealand by one wicket. 

England: Alastair Cook (capt), James Anderson, Ian Bell, Ravi Bopara, Tim Bresnan, Stuart Broad, Jos Buttler, Eoin Morgan, Joe Root, Graeme Swann, Jonathan Trott. 

Sri Lanka: Angelo Mathews (capt), Dinesh Chandimal, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Kusal Perera, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene, Lahiru Thirimanne, Lasith Malinga, Rangana Herath, Nuwan Kulasekara, Shaminda Eranga. 

Umpires: Billy Bowden (NZL) and Aleem Dar (PAK) 

TV umpire: Marais Erasmus (RSA)
