The Sophia Gardens cricket stadium is located in Cardiff, Wales. The ground is named after Sophia Rawdon-Hastings, second wife of John Crichton-Stuart. It is one of the smaller cricket grounds in the UK with a capacity of 5,500. But after a redevelopment program carried out during the period 2006-08, the capacity was increased to 15,000. Floodlights were also added to the ground during that very redevelopment program.

But the first international test match on this ground was played years later in 2009 between England & Australia.
